One thing we don't do: sell software

DSC is software-agnostic.

We fly with whatever platform you run and deliver data that your workflow can use the day it's captured. Still choosing tools? We'll introduce you to capable suppliers — the selection stays yours.

What DSC delivers

Four ways DSC moves your claims

Outsource the flying, build your own team, or run both. We don't sell software, so every model runs on the platform you choose.

SOLUTION 01 · FLY

We fly your inspections

Certified, insured pilots handle single-risk and full CAT deployments. Dispatched in days, flown in one visit, with photo sets that flow straight into your estimating workflow.

Deliverables →
SOLUTION 02 · BUILD & TRAIN

We build and train your in-house drone team

Pilot selection, equipment, procedures and Transport Canada compliance, then ground school, exam prep and official flight reviews — from interested to certified to flying real claims.

Program & training →
SOLUTION 03 · DISPATCH & SURGE

One queue, every pilot, storms included

Your pilots and ours in one dispatch queue: your team flies when they're close and available, DSC covers the distance, the timing and the volume — storm weeks included.

Calgary 2024 →
SOLUTION 04 · VERIFLY

VeriFly: track how cashouts are resolved

A cash settlement closes the file, not the roof's story. VeriFly adds a follow-up drone inspection weeks or months later, so you know whether the repair actually happened.

Solutions & deliverables

What you get, not just what we fly.

Every DSC solution ends in something you can use: a report in the claim file, a certified pilot on staff, or a CAT response that holds your service levels.

Field inspections: what lands in your claim file

Certified pilots capture roofs, elevations and full properties across Canada. Every mission returns the same software-dependent package:

  • Organized photo sets by slope and elevation, overview to close-up
  • Roof measurement reports: facets, pitch, total squares
  • Hail & wind damage: test squares, dented siding, soft-metal indicators
  • Thermal imaging where moisture intrusion is in question
  • Wide-area capture for large losses and CAT triage

The result? Your adjusters deal with decisions, not drive-time. Cashout vs vendor assignment choice is rapid. Policyholder NPS soars, LAE erodes, CATs are tamed.

Drone program setup: a department, not a gadget drawer

We design and launch in-house operations that survive real claim volume: program planning, regulatory compliance, pilot onboarding, equipment, operating procedures, record-keeping, dispatch design and a storm-surge plan. Your goal isn't owning drones; it's using technology to improve your loss ratio.

Hybrid dispatch: one queue, every pilot

Most clients want both. We fold your pilots and ours into one dispatch process — your people fly when they're nearby, DSC covers the rest.

SOLUTION 04 · POST-SETTLEMENT

VeriFly: track how cashouts are resolved

When a roof claim is settled in cash, the file closes but the roof's story doesn't. Once the cheque is issued, you have no way of knowing whether the damaged roof was ever repaired or replaced.

Every unrepaired roof is a latent liability: a future claim waiting to happen, and an underwriting blind spot sitting on your book.

The Solution: VeriFly replaces the traditional pay-and-forget cashout with a follow-up drone inspection, weeks or months after settlement on a timeline you control. You get documented, visual proof of whether the repair actually happened.

How It Works

  1. You assign. Send us an Assignment Form 1 to 3 months after the cashout. That window gives most repairs time to be completed. After a severe CAT event, when contractor capacity is stretched thin, simply extend the gap.
  2. We fly. DSC captures one or more drone images of the roof and delivers them to you.
  3. You verify. You check for repair or replacement.

Why carriers choose DSC

We know the industries. We know the airspace. We know how important your customers are.

Damage evidence in days, not weeks, on every property claim

Data back the day it's flown: organized, consistent, defensible — not a memory-card dump

Dispatch that fits your claims workflow, not another portal to babysit

Surge capacity the week the hail falls, not the month after

Training & flight reviews

Your in-house team. Certified and flying.

Traditional ladder inspections take over 40 minutes. A drone inspection takes under 20 minutes. It's the fastest route from FNOL to a closed claim file.

Work-at-your-pace online instruction, or in-house training at your premises. What your team walks away with:

  • Certified pilots on your payroll: Transport Canada exam prep and official flight reviews
  • Consistent, defensible capture: every pilot shoots the same way, so every file reads the same way
  • Skills that transfer to any platform: capture technique and airmanship
  • Privacy & site-access discipline: what they can fly, where, and how neighbours are handled
  • Refresher training that keeps pilots sharp between storm seasons

Compliance & procurement

Built to pass your vendor review.

Our clients onboard on documentation, not reputation. Here is ours — the full due-diligence pack is one email away.

Regulatory compliance

Every mission flown under Transport Canada RPAS regulations (CARs Part IX), minimum Advanced RPAS Pilot Certificate. Airspace authorizations handled per flight.

Insurance

Aviation liability, CGL, cyber, and automobile coverage in place. Clients named as additional insureds.

Software neutrality

DSC does not sell, resell or represent any inspection platform, and delivers data in the formats your workflow requires.

Privacy & consent

Consent documented before every flight. Data handled per PIPEDA and provincial statutes. Cameras oriented to the subject risk. Read our privacy policy →

Safety & operations

Documented procedures: site risk assessment, weather minimums, bystander controls, maintenance logs. No reportable RPAS incidents in more than eight years of operations.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers, before you even call.

Where does DSC operate?

Across Canada. DSC has flown insurance inspections coast to coast since 2017 — for carriers, IAs, restorers and roofers.

Cities and regions ringed in orange are where DSC has flown. Open the map to zoom in on a region.
Do drone pilots need a licence to fly inspections in Canada?
Yes. Commercial inspection work with a drone of 250 g or more requires a Transport Canada Drone Pilot Certificate. Under 250 g none is required, but you must still operate safely and not endanger people or aircraft.
How fast can DSC get a pilot on a property?
Pilots are dispatched within days and the property is flown in a single visit, with measurement data reaching estimators within hours. During CAT events we add surge capacity so those timelines hold.
What does a drone roof inspection actually deliver?
A claim-ready package: organized photo sets by slope and elevation, a measurement report with facets, pitch and squares, hail and wind damage shot close enough to count impacts, and thermal imaging where moisture is in question.
Does DSC sell inspection software?
No, and that's deliberate. We fly with whatever platform you already run. Still choosing? We give vendor-neutral guidance and introduce you to suppliers — the selection is yours.
Can our own staff fly claims instead of outsourcing?
Yes. DSC builds in-house programs end to end: pilot selection, training and certification, equipment, procedures, compliance and dispatch design. Many clients run a hybrid of both.
What happens when a CAT event hits?
A severe hail or wind event can create more inspections in a weekend than a claims team handles in a quarter. DSC adds quality-controlled field capacity within days, so cycle times hold and policyholders see their claim moving.
